Chitta / Adangal

சிட்டா / அடங்கல்

The yearly village account of a survey number — who cultivates it, its extent, and the tax paid.

Chitta (also called adangal or village account) is the annual record kept for every survey number in a revenue village, listing the cultivator, crop, extent, and the land tax paid.

It is one of the three key TN land documents along with the patta (ownership) and the FMB (survey sketch). Banks often ask for chitta copies when lending against land.

A chitta copy can be obtained from the village administrative officer (VAO) or downloaded from the TN e-services portal by village and survey number.
